Most used thing in your pack

What would be the most used thing in your pack when out and about. For me it would be my gps..

It would probably be my phone as I use it to navigate and to take lots of pictures to record GPS positions of routes and at interesting spots, or my binos. Turn on the location recording on the camera and every time you take a photo you can check the area out when you get home on GoogleEarth from the coordinates.

That was my first thought as well but I put five-litres of water in a pair of bladders a few years ago so now I don't need to reach for bottles until I need to refill the bladders.

Honestly water would have to be the top of anyone's list really. But aside from that,I'd have to say binoculars.

Get a bladder and the hose rests right beside your face, don't even need to think about drinking after a bit, it just happens, and you're not waving your arms about getting a bottle :-)

Unless I’m deer hunting back of Gympie and there’s plenty of tobacco bushes around. Let us not forget the ever so important toilet paper

That's the most used thing you take?
I think you should probably stay home until you're feeling better in that case :-)

Agreed, I do take a day pack but it's empty in case I need to carry stuff back out.
All my gear is on my rig, in it's own place, where I can find it in the dark, and immediately notice if it's missing. My ski jacket, which is also my bedding, is rolled up across my lower back.

Water bottle, toilet paper, knife. As soon as I start to do the k’s , I need the water and the paper. I’m pretty good at orientation on big properties with landmarks like ridge lines. On western Queensland properties with nothing but scrub I use my gps . No phone reception on some I’ve been on . I’m on my own on some trips, and don’t take risks with some country. A knife blade for signaling would be a handy thing in a shtf scenario. But water is the most essential thing IMHO

I sit and wait a lot or whistle foxes. Well, try to. Lol
Finally got out yesterday morning for a couple of hours. Its been ages.

So I have a small piece of foam carpet underlay to sit on. Use it every time.

The stuff in my day pack is the stuff I hope I won't use. First aid, elb, assorted survival thingies, space blanket, small torch. Ver very small as in not a spotlight in Victoria.
