Well this is one for the record books.
Five years ago (3/05/2017 to be precise) I purchased some industrial/mechanical parts for a machine that I was building.
Those parts cost me $145.05 inc gst

Today (02/11/2022) I purchased the exact same parts and same brand, from the same company for reconditioning on the same machine.
They cost me $99.51 inc gst

Go figure,,,,,,,,,,

Bought a packet of core-lokt for the 30-06 last week, price had gone down $2 from a few months ago.

Bloke behind the counter said they were hoping the word would get around to drum up business. They were the cheapest of the other local shops I've bought from, so wasn't complaining anyway.

I have found that bearing and seal kits can be a trap. Some of these kits have good quality bearing made by Koyo etc, but the seals are cheap rubbish that only last 6 months, hence the low price. I have been caught out with this and now make sure the seals are also a quality items.

I get a bunch of emails from all the online gun companies here in the USA, Brownells, Cabelas, Midway, etc. and I am seeing a heck of a lot of sales going on.

I think it's because for a lot of folks with so much inflation going on here, people are focusing on the basics such as food and energy and they are having to cut out other stuff because they just do not have the money for it. Official inflation is 8% but that is baloney. Everything I buy is up anywhere from 20-300% and others I know have reported the same.

The bearings are popular and regularly used in a multitude of machines,, however the seals themselves are a not common type.
