Unlikely, bullets are very very fast.
However, far more heavily armoured against penetration. By wild boar they mean wild boar. Not feral pigs like we have here. And we have some very devolved ferals here. Still no comparison. They’re kinda the dinosaur pigs, the ancestors of domesticated pigs.
The picture in the article looks like wild boar. So that was a dumb idea wasn’t it Canada.
But wait there’s more.
The article mentions hybrids in excess of 300kg. Meet your new apex predator Canada. Idiots.

Mate,I've got a bloke on FB telling people to use a 22 mag on goats out to 200m,but shooting them beyond 300m with a centrefire is unethical......but its all about the shot placement hey

I'll never forget when an old boss walked into the pig pen with a .22 pistol and a bucket of scraps with the plan of shooting the old bore at point blank right in the sweet spot.
He tipped the food out walked up to the big bugger and unloaded a round on his scone... that big old bore squealed his lungs out and charged straight through the pen he'd spent his whole life in like it wasn't there leaving the sows running around going crazy.
Eventually he found him rooting around down by the river, this time the .243 did the job.

The thing is with shooting animals right between the eyes is that beef bulls and steers have a thicker ridge of bone down the middle so a rimfire is very marginal if it hits dead on that ridge bone . It could also be that a boar pig has a similar ridge . On the few occasions I used a rimfire I aimed just to the side of the center . Much prefer a centerfire with some real penetration .

Didn't know they had invaded Canada. It's a major problem here in the USA, however much of the impacted land is private and I have looked into pig hunting in places like Texas but it's all big business now. They want thousands of dollars to hunt a pig or two and I'm like do you want them eradicated or not?

I have heard rumors that scumbags have tried releasing them here in my state to have them to hunt, hope not. However where I live the terrain is very rugged, rocky and mountainous with few flat places, so I am not sure they would ever thrive here in that.
