The timeline for deaths on this conflict did not start last year.

Sorry mchughcb but you need correcting.
The revised Ukraine constitution only recognises ethnic Ukrainians as citizens.
So any ethnic Russians, Moldovans, Romanians, Hungarians, Belorussians, Slovaks and Poles remaining within the borders of Ukraine are not citizens and are thus fair game for the Azov batallions.
I doubt if there were any Poles left openly living in Ukraine as during WW2 they either escaped west or were butchered by the Banderites and after the war were allowed to move by the USSR from the territory seized from Poland by the USSR and which is now a substantial part of Ukraine.

My mates grandmother who recently passed away a few years ago fled to Poland from Lviv. She said she didn't like Russians but would pray to god they would come compared to the Banderites who killed several of her classmates by burning them alive in their basements.

There is a constitution as most countries do. The question is, what is the actual practices and is it respected. That is what ties judges and lawyers up for years debating.

It’s a constitution. Debate it all you want but the state is duty bound by it. Cannot be overruled by law or government.

Did watch the 4 corners episode as recommended. It’s well done and well rounded. It’s critical to understand the perspective of the Russian population.
The parallels with Germany late 30’s are so real and speaking out is just too dangerous. We must also remember the bravery of the Russians that stood up to the regime.
There was no official directive from the chain of command to round up the jews, dig a pit and fill it, when they first entered Poland in 39.
But the first village, just a few km’s from the border, was where it began. On their own initiative.
History repeats.
Surely if you country declares its now illegal to access outside information, you have to question that. What’s being kept hidden from you. I think it unlikely that many don’t know the truth by now.
The world knows. Keyhole satellites with a resolution around 5 inches. I think the US alone has 12 now. There are no secrets on the battlefield today.

Zoe Buhler was charged with sedition in Ballarat. Arrested in her pjamas , handcuffed while pregnant. Plenty of people supported that government response. I financially contributed to her legal case and the police dropped the charges before she went to trial. The mob and brainwashing of society is real speaking out against any government.

I accept that for some reading and comprehension are not their strongest skill.
The recent constitution I referred to is the revision of 2014 after Victoria Nuland installed "Yats" to the leadership position not the much earlier constitution referenced.
Buried in amongst the noble motherhood statements in the 2014 constitution there also appeared a provision that allows for the ownership of property in Ukraine by foreign entities.
As a consequence not too long ago Blackrock, Cargill and Monsanto had achieved the ownership of 1/3 of all arable land in Ukraine.
Now consider the 100's of billions in military aid forwarded to Ukraine by the US, do you think that was out of the goodness of the US's heart? No it is via credit secured by whatever the Ukraine government can hock or sell. Now other countries are also piling on in the same way.
Even if some miracle happened and the Russians were to withdraw tomorrow the people of Ukraine will have lost.
The country with the lowest per capita income and the highest level of corruption in Europe will have been well and truly f*** over by it's so called friends.

Interesting the commodity traders like Cargill don't do anything for free. They gave a habit of lending huge money then getting long term concessions on primary industries well under market prices.

After all 6 of Putin's "invulnerable" Kinzals that were fired at Ukrainian cities were shot down, repercussions inside the new iron curtain have already started.

There’s a lot to suggest a final push to wind this up. Hopefully. No more drip feeding military supplies, equipment.
Russia couldn’t organise an invasion in a brothel. Consensus that we’re just prolonging it. F16’s confirmed. Should have had granted patriot long before now.

This is an opnion piece. Civilians die all the time in war. There were thousands of ISIS and anti government forces supported by the West holed up in civilian buildings for 4 years. The Russians supported Assad, broke the siege of Aleppo.

Assad is now welcomed back to Arab league and in talks with Turkey on what to do with the Kurds.

It continues. Deliberately targeting civilians. Killing women and children seems to be the priority.

And putin wonders why so many countries are providing military support to Ukraine and others applying for NATO membership. Doh.

I think it’s safe to discount Russian “allies”
Give Belarus nukes. That gives them the option to stand up to Russia, join with Ukraine.
Syria dose’nt have nukes. If it did it wouldn’t exist.
North Korea. Do you feel lucky.
China. As if. They’re waiting it out watching Russia implode. They have nothing to gain by defending Russia but am awful lot to gain if they don’t.
India. They’re in a difficult position. All above have other options. But no they won’t launch, not a chance.

Russians just steamrolled Bakmut. The real story will come out how many died for defending a city doomed to fail.

Zalushny is apparently in a coma in Kiev after being injured in Russian attack and hasn't been seen for days, even missed a NATO video conference, so there is no military leadership.

The new game changer is the promised F16.
