Well, I only have one email address, which I've had since 2000.
It says I've been caught up in nine data breaches. Two I was aware of, the old MySpace one (five years after I stopped playing with MySpace - I didn't use it for anything) and the UtahGunExchange that was only a couple years ago. It also says Twitter. I do have a Twitter account but have never used it for anything at all.
The data they got is pretty innocuous though.

I only have one email address so I guess the nine breaches just means my address was taken nine times? As I do get spam email this is no surprise. Nine times is ludicrously low though considering I have posted my address on several public forums over the years.
Passwords change regularly so they don't matter.
I only have two usernames, which are posted every time I post anything to forums, so that is information I readily give out. Likewise my name, it is on everything I do on FB and in the real world so I'm already giving it out to the public to use as it wishes.
My gender is a real surprise, love to know what they do with that one :-)

Did they completely ignore the Medicare and bank breaches we've seen here?

Perhaps your data wasn't compromised in those breaches :unknown:

Might be time to change that email, Blade.

I have mine compartmentalised, address X, Y or Z is used only for a particular purpose and nothing else, etc, and there is no "cross-pollenisation".

I also change them regularly, it's a chore I'm happy to put up with.

If I ever need to change it, then I will, until then it's fine. In 24 years it hasn't caused me any issues.

I would like to set up throw away addresses just for when I sign up to something so I can see what spam comes back to that address, telling me whether they passed on my information. But it's only a novelty idea so I never manage to get around to it :-) I just assume that anywhere I give any information to, including the government, is going to make it public knowledge.

I do have a gmail address I've never used, and I very likely have a Yahoo address from many years ago, again unused. I think I only had one address before my current one, which was with a small internet provider I enjoyed before they closed shop. Generation IT they were called, in Subiaco. Their biggest competitor was iinet, which started in Perth at the same time. I think I was one of their earliest customers, at least they certainly treated me as such. I don't recall having any address prior to my @git.net.au address.

Pretty presumptuous in today's day and age to assume someone's gender is still the same anyhow!

I'd imagine it's used for targeted advertisements i.e. man - here's some gun ads for you, female - here's some tampon ads, trans - here's some bud light. That type of thing.

I've had two breaches, but I was already aware of that anyway.
Had the same email for 18 years now, never had any issues.
Decent password with 2fa will keep most people away, I think I'd miss the emails about viagra and winning a new car if I were to change email addresses...
