Sh!t Coffee

Post by Die Judicii » 24 May 2023, 9:40 pm

Once upon a time instant coffee used to dissolve really well as you poured the hot water in,,,,,,,,
(only the real cheap and nasty stuff wouldn't dissolve easy or just taste bloody awful)
But nowadays even the top brand stuff won't dissolve properly.
Even after stirring well there are still flakes swimming on the surface.

Anyone know why ?

Have the manufacturers changed or added something ? :unknown:

I still drink Infernal Host (International Roast) for instant coffee, no problem with non-dissolved particles. I have a 1/2 jar of Caterers Choice from a Crib Hut I had to transport, and I still fear Pablo. Only other coffee I drink is hand ground from a local coffee supplier and brewed in a Mocha pot.

You can’t polish turds, and that’s all instant coffee is.

Can’t remember the other brand names except that they all had the same issues. We are currently wading our way through a jar of Moccona and it too is shocking.

Faulty water
Broken kettle
Operator error
Mislabeled tin, that might not be coffee, maybe vegemite
There are many parameters to exclude first before you start blaming the coffee.

Sorry, milk first for tea always and you can taste the difference - indeed I beat my wife who's a trained winemaker and spent most of her working life using her nose and palate  Coffee it doesn't seem to make any difference and as for rum..... you'd be hard pushed to taste anything good

That's true with tea the civilised way, Flyonline.

I however, am an uncultured bag drowner, so every cup is like a little pot. :drinks:
