Anybody getting 502 or other error messages?

Post by straightshooter » 12 Jun 2023, 10:00 am

Did anybody else experience no access to this forum yesterday and this morning.
Whenever I tried I got an access denied 502 error screen.
Judging by the timestamps on posts in the "view active topics" button then this might have been a local to me network problem.
Can anybody shed some light on the matter?

At least this time it wasn't as bad.
I can't remember the dates, but approx 12 months ago the same issue arose, but lasted for more than a week as I recall.

No big deal cos in general,,,,, this forum has become much like "Blue Hills" for those that are old enough.
You can go away for a month,,,,, then com back,,,,,, and you won't have missed much at all if anything.

Thanks for the info, guys.

This was a bit slow to come to my attention as those affected couldn't reach the site for a time to let us know,

I know the neighborhood of the problem here, it's a particular security system being a bit overly aggressive and temporarily refusing some users.

If you encounter the problem again if you could PM me your IP address at the time and I can check the logs for what triggered it and hopefully resolve things.

edit: or use the contact form here if the site is currently unreachable for you - https://enoughgun.wufoo.com/forms/contact-us/

Appreciate it.
See you on the firing line.

Pardon me, but if anyone encounters the problem again,,,,,, How can they PM you when they can't even log in ??? :unknown:

The site has been unreachable all day for me today until now. Different to the last time this was a more fatal error IMHO it was more of a google I cant find the site a bit like a DNS error.

Edited my post above.

I've made a few tweaks now to hopefully sort it, but please let me know if you still encounter any issues.

Guys, if you're still having issues I need your IP address to check in the log why you've been mistakenly affected.

There are thousands of malicious traffic hits filtered out constantly, I can't just spot the few incorrect flags for members amongst the logs.

Cheers.
See you on the firing line.
