Fat bastards club

Post by Oldbloke » 18 Sep 2023, 11:42 am

August last year my doc said I needed to drop a few kg. You, gave me the talk.

Like most over the years i put a few on.

So, reduced carbs. No dry biscuits and cheese now. Lol. Still having a beer every day.

I've now lost 5.5 kg. Pretty slow but I think it will be permanent.

Anyone else out there battling the bulge?

No, it is my friend, Make Love Not War! I feed mine meat, cheese, milk, breads, eggs etc. I have a bag of cvarci in the fridge (pieces of salted fried pork fat), beer in the shed fridge (a Temprite also for "those days")

I don't really battle the bulge but I'm heavier than I'd prefer. I got down to almost 80kg when I was really crook a couple decades ago and would never want to look that sick again, but about 95kg would make life easier I think.

I was 105 kg and 6"2 at the start of the year and decided to trim down so I completely cut out all carbs and sugar including fruit and alcohol and lost 30kg in two months.
I didn't consider myself overweight but the change in what I can do easily now is amazing, even backing the ute and looking over my shoulder is far easier. I can bounce up and down over the hills with my rifle in hand like I could when I was twenty and I'm not going back to where I was before. The only thing I miss is bread but even that doesn't worry me now.
So now I'm out of the fat bastards club and only the old bastards club, but I can't do much about that.

30kg wow. You must have made major reductoon to your carbon intake.

My reduction in carbs has been very moderate yet its still trickling down. Almost down to my 82kg target now.

Not just cutting out carbs but regular fasting as well, I looked into autophagy and discovered that not eating regularly is the absolute best thing you can do for you health. I can't believe how much better I feel, even my eyesight has improved.

This cutting carbs and sugar to reduce bodyfat is nonsense.

With potato for example they have very little calories and no fat. When you cook them in oil or add butter sour cream etc that increases the calories to a much higher level. How you cook is very important in reducing calorie intake.

If you consume more calories than you burn you will get fat. It makes no difference with food types it's simple maths.

It can't be nonsense, it worked for me, maybe not you.

I'm not out to give anyone medical advice but I have read a lot of research on diet and found that cancer has a voracious appetite and gobbles up sugar and carbohydrates which turn into glucose in your blood. Personally I don't think iced donuts and Coke are a good idea. When the Grim Reaper is lurking in the neighbourhood I'm not going to shout the bastard lunch.
When you have a PET scan for cancer they use sugar to flare up the cancer so it's easy to identify, when you ask a doctor about sugar and cancer they give you a blank stare.
I'll go with what I'm comfortable with.
