Enforcing the Law

Last Friday, a father and son were taken by the mother of the family, to the Test Cricket in Brisbane, where they were to be dropped-off. However, on their arrival at the Gabba's drop off point, they found that it was occupied by police cars.
So they circled around a number of times without finding a parking spot. On coming to a stop light, father and son jumped out and made their way to the cricket. Back in the car however and after a short period of driving, the mother's phone rang. Their vigilant daughter informed her mother that the number was unlisted, so it was ignored but after a very short time the phone rang again, by an unlisted number. This time the mother answered (on Bluetooth), to be told that it was the police calling, who proceded to ask a bunch of questions.
Meanwhile, back at the Gabba, father and son had been intercepted and asked the same questions. Subsequently, the father was charged with not wearing a seatbelt.
Whatever the facts regarding the seatbelt issue, do not forget that THEY ARE WATCHING.

We live in the era of the police KPI, (Key Performance Indicators) Wm.
In 2019 Victorian police were found to have faked dozens of "random" breath tests in an effort to meet their unrealistic KPIs.
These "score" targets are a driver of overly officious police behaviour and, indirectly, police brutality.
When they are desperate to meet unrealistic targets, it's human nature to improvise and overreact.
Courage is knowing it might
hurt, and doing it anyway.
Stupidity is the same
.
And that's why life is hard
