Criminal intelligence?

Post by NTSOG » 03 Dec 2024, 7:24 am

G'day,

Over recent months I've been intrigued by the antics of several criminal gangs trying to import very large amounts of drugs into the country. The most recent case was reported yesterday. About a dozen blokes have been arrested as they tried to import $1 billion worth of 'product'. What caught my attention was that the latest mob bought a motor launch to use to pick up the drugs offshore and it broke down. They then paid $150,000 for another launch which also broke down offshore where the Rozzers caught them with the drugs. I think there was another case some time ago in which the pick-up vessel also broke down. It occurred to me that if I was operating a 'business' importing $1 billion of 'product' I would spend sufficient money to buy a new and sound vessel or would at least have a second-hand one 'road-worthied', i.e. the hull, engine, propeller shaft and rudder checked by a qualified mechanic/marine surveyor. Going offshore is not the same as driving down the highway.

Doesn't matter how much money you throw at it if somebody on the inside fiddles with the thing and leaves you stranded until the Police roll up.

I love human ingenuity. When their is a will there is a way.

Just think for every one caught at least a dozen or so make it through.

Got a mate who has worked in Corrective Services for amny years and it is obvious to him that most crims in gaol are as dumb as dog s&%t that's why they got caught. My own opinion is that it appears that Mr Bigs (or Mrs Bigs to be pc) are nowhere to be seen or found as the dummies they have enticed to work for them doing this type of stuff, are the ones most likely to get caught. Surely they must advertise somewhere for " Earn big money. Must be a self starter with bugger all common sense"

From what I've been told by a prison guard and personal experience (no im not a crim) that's pretty right.

A bit like the bright spark holding up the bank with a SB shottie.

The teller engages the would be robber in conversation, and says "Thats not even loaded"
Robber gets flustered and says, Yes it is.

Teller says, "Bullsh!t,,, prove it.

Robber fires into the wall,,,,,,,,,,,, and teller jumps the counter, swings an almighty punch and knocks robber out cold.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
And,,,,It's been proven,,,,, the most trustworthy females in my entire life were all canines.

I'd be willing to wage a bet that the police had something to do with the mechanical issues.

It's easy to underestimate the abilities of our police force, they have eyes and ears everywhere, and theybnever sleep.

Probably the most damning display of incompetent criminals I can think of is the bank robbers without balaclavas because they thought painting their faces with lemon juice made it impossible for the security cameras to see them

There was a story about 10-15 years ago about bank robbers somewhere in America. I think Colorado. They were ski instructors and they were Australian and being the only Australians in the town their accents gave them away.

Thats them! Dumb and dumber.

“They were regular customers in the bank so, with their accents, they were easily identified by the tellers they robbed. “
