I just got back from a few days there because I wanted to see the war museum. It was good. Very well maintained. The gold plated AK taken from Saddams palace was cool to see.

But apart from that I can see why 65% voted yes to the voice. A lot of young fit women but sadly the men were more prettier than the women. Not much testosterone down there.

The place feels like a yuppie soulless hellhole. You guys been down there?

Really makes me Identify as a North Queenslander first and Australian second because those people are not my kind of people.

I did get a compliment by a guy on my F gun control shirt though.

Good pics mate
I used to sometimes fly back to Bne from Canberra when we were doing the Hot Refuel Upgrade at HMAS Albatross on the hill behind Nowra.
We'd drop off a hire car at the scareport and on the way maybe pull up at a fast food joint and stare at the wierdos - the gay looking men mainly made us freak out... we are from Tradie backgrounds remember, working for Defence, so we aren't girlie boys, steel and energy is our game.
As they say on Seinfeld, "Not that there's anything wrong with that"... girlie boys that is.

But the trip down from Syd on the Princes Hwy was way nicer, what a beautiful place along the coast and the Shoalhaven. And the Yummy Mummies, wow, stuff Canberra. Stop reminding me, FFS.
Apart from the useless girlie boy reactionary Premier and idiot government, that is, the state is beautiful.

Alex,,, Your bloody lucky you didn't run into my Ex, now that's a piece of work gone horribly wrong.

But so glad to see that "Simpson" is still there.

Three flag poles with three Australian flags?! I'm surprised that Albo and his commie mates haven't added the other two flags they like so much plus a rainbow flag.

Me thinks Canberra would have been pretty quiet last night. I guess the majority were at the Mardi Gra?

It was OK and pretty normal when I last visited some years ago.
I stayed at the big motel near the big house of wierdos, our pretend leaders as it was a good value 4 star.
Pizza at the other motel pub-like place was crowded at dinner time, and seen that Darren Hinch and his bite, she looked OK but I couldn't see her front on or close.

I shot at the Majura SSAA range for some 500m silly animal steel fun, great place and was still cheap to shoot there.
I never really walked in the main streets on my 2 visits, so may have missed the woke crowd.

The second time, I stayed in the middle of the thriving town with one of the biggest growth rates in the country.
The town was like a construction site with new big building activity and mostly Indian people but it is sure thriving.
It was the last suburb to the north on the new light rail and I can't remember the abo type name.
Just avoided the city centre and shot at the range that was not far away, still had traffic jams, getting out to the Hwy.

They changed the law 2 years ago that its not a criminal offence to posses small amounts of drugs. So there was a lot of junkies in the city.

The Israeli embassy had so many AFP police cars parked outside of it. Never seen that many.

One thing I figured out years ago if you were interested in the ladies, Canberra was not a bad place to go. Also found some decent restaurants there.

What I liked with the War Memorial was that it wasn't boring history but a lot of personal stories and artifacts.
