Any good shooting movies?

Post by tuffstuff » 13 Aug 2014, 3:20 pm

I've got onto one of these DVD mail rental things so am filling up the list with junk as we speak

Can anyone recommend any good army/military/shooting videos that aren't completely over the top? I've had my fill of some Hollywood B lister pumping out thousands of rounds and blowing up some village in Asia.

Any movies where I mean learn something new?

New or classics is all good :)

The Outlaw Josie Wales- Clint Eastwood. Quigley Downunder - Tom Selleck. Horn blower - tv mini series.
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

I watched Way Of The Gun the other night. Story was ok but the gunplay was really well done. There were a couple instances of shooting more rounds without a reload than they should but it showed a few real world tactics like the tactical reload and reloading while injured. Worth a watch

Damned mobile phones! Thought they were "Smart"! If it didn't keep me entertained at work I'd go back to the old flip phone!

I thought "Shooter" with Mark Wahlberg was pretty good.

A little Hollywood influence in there but overall pretty realistic. Good movie/story in general too.

I had high hopes for Lone Survivor but after 20 minutes of people falling down cliffs I was over it.

Read the book, movie totally undersells what those guys went through. They cut the falling down cliffs in half

Yeah I've been told the movie goes quite a bit off track.

It all went to hell basically straight away IRL right, and more time with just him spent escaping and surviving...?

I'm no history teacher but I'm pretty sure Germany and England weren't on good terms during World War 2

Pretty much. The whole thing lasted near 5 days not 3 as shown in the movie plus he got hurt a lot more than they showed in the movie
