How long to pay? (Vic guys)

Post by jennageit » 19 Sep 2014, 4:28 pm

Hi Guys,

As you all know, I've sent my license application off :D and have a few weeks before it's back.

Can anyone tell me if there is a time frame that you have to pay for it in? Like 14 or 28 days or something?

I did a search of the forum and couldn't find the information, so decided to ask.

If someone knows where I should be looking, feel free to delete this and point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

Jenna

Maybe, just maybe, try going straight to the horse's mouth so to speak, and ring Vic F/Arms branch.

Now why didn't I think of that?

Oh wait, that's right, I have a couple of reasons why I have asked on this forum.

1. I failed to record the telephone number at the top of the License Application form, and when I went looking for it on the VicPol website, all I got was an email address. I've emailed, but am still waiting for a reply.

2. I rang the local F/A officer and got his answering machine. I've left a message, but my call hasn't been returned as yet.

3. I've been told that it's okay to ask questions on here. As a public forum, anyone else who has the same question might be able to find the answer here, as I have done many times by reading through other peoples posts, saving themselves a phone call.

People shouldn't be afraid to ask questions on a forum, and yet, now I wonder whether I would be better off just waiting until the powers that be have time to reply to me.

Jenna

BTW, after downloading a couple of documents from VicPol's website (now that my net is working again), I've managed to find the 1300 number, so you don't need to worry about answering my question any more. I'll ring them on Monday and get the answer (hopefully), but just so others might benefit from the information, I'll post the answer here.

Yeah, I know just what your putting up with,
My partner waited 8 months for a response from Vic F/arms branch.
In the meantime, the Qld branch sorted the problem.
Maybe emigrate from Vic ?????????????

Pretty sure it's 30 days Jenna, then you are also given more time to get to a photo from their list of approved photo points. Stamped paid in full receipt can be used as temporary licence

Hi Patrol66,

Thanks for the info. I was really hoping it would be something like that.

I'm planning on putting my PTA in shortly, as I've found a nice little 22lr under $250, and with a little work, it should be a handy rifle for picking off foxes.

Thanks again,
Jenna

From memory the date is on the paperwork. Usually 28 days.

Yep, I believe that's correct too.

A month to pay or you have to do it again.
