Anyone take up SSAA firearms insurance?

Post by Broom » 31 Oct 2013, 7:53 pm

Just got he latest SSAA mag and there's a flyer in there for their stand-alone firearms insurance.

Anyone feel the need to get this?

I don't have an epic collection of valuable rifles or anything like that, just a regular shooter.

Anyone feel the need for extra insurance or just stick with their regular home contents?

Most do afaik, but certainly some insurers do not cover firearms as part of their stock policies.

It's working checking your policy if you're not already sure.

Even if your home contents does cover there's usually a limit of a certain about on a type of item.

Like $1000 on watches etc. If you have more than this you have to pay them extra to insure them for what they're actually worth.

You need to check what your current contents insurance covers exactly before you'll know if SSAA firearm insurance is worth you having.

I did cause like explained above my contents provided didn't cover enough of the value.

Would only get a fraction of their proper worth if stolen.
