I thought 308w was a popular displacement for ford V8 engines........I kept wondering why everyone was shooting their car

When I was a youngin, I loved watching Magnum P.I. - mostly on account of his mode of transport... that sexy piece of automotive art, the Ferrari 308GTSi.... so my favourite was the 308... that was fine with my friends as their favourite was also the 308.....Holden Commodore or T'rana... or Munro or whatever else their big brothers were shoehorning it into...

Holdens were 253 and 308 cubic inch V8s, then they went to 304 later to get the capacity just under 5L for Group C or A racing spec....

Fords were generally 289 302 and 351, sized small blocks named 'Cleveland' and 'Windsor' after the plant names in US and Canada respectively

Went to a wedding the other week and the bradl cars were 3x Torana SLR with 308 loaded. Haven't seen that many Toranas in one place for decades! I was surprised there were that many left that hadn't been wrapped around a tree by some P-plater in the 80's!!!
