Shootings apps?

Post by juststarting » 22 Mar 2016, 10:31 am

Hi All

I got side tracked with installing random stuff on my small Android tablet and started looking at 'shooting' apps. Calculators, references, etc. Something small to take to the range and doubles up as a camera... I'll do a brain dump of applications that I found later, in the meantime I was wondering if anyone uses any of them?

What do you use - applications (Android or iOS)?
Recommendations?
etc.

On my iPhone I have the following shooting themed apps

AB Mobile - Applied Ballistics by Bryan Litz - Multiple rifles and rounds, ability to sync across several devices.
Shooter - Don't really use
Sako Ballistics - Don't really use
Compass - Good little app, gives bearing, elevation, GPS location and the second screen has a 2 axis inclinometer
Declination - Calculates declination based on GPS location.
How's my posting?

Had a play with Strelok at the range but hardly rely on it.

Apps and general tech aren't my thing but I'm getting into this cloud stuff where everything appears across your phone, computer and the lot.

Really the way to go.

Strelok on my phone in conjunction with a small anemometer and a range finder.

Probably won't interest most of you fella's but I got a program off a bloke in the U.S for spotting at silhouette matches. Neat app. Has the animal targets on screen, you just tap where the shot hits and it leaves a numbered dot. Inbuilt timer, scope settings log and data saving ability so you can relive the glory  or anguish  at home. It's a pretty neat program but would work better on a tablet, phone screen is a bit small.
