Don't know about everyone else, but I had some shady bloke in an alley offer me $20 to "boost the numbers".

I mean $20 is $20  :sarcasm:

Hi Everyone,

I have recently decided to get into some shooting. I had never fired a rifle before I joined the army and haven't fired one since leaving 10 years ago.

I live in Wodonga Vic and have been out to the local handgun club for a few NORI shoots and going through the membership/licencing process. I've also just got my A/B licence. I'm currently looking for a safe and then a rifle to head out to do some target shooting. Not really a big fan of hunting but I'm interested in learning for the means of survial and only taking what I would use.

I have a bit of a penchant for the Aussie made Lithgow rifles but not sure the initial budget will allow it. I will only be shooting .22lr to start as I was completely shocked at the price of ammunition! :P

This looks like a great resource where I can learn alot so thanks for having me :)

G'day MetalMic.
Since your first rifled will be 22lr I'd strongly suggest you save a few extra bucks and get what you want from the start. It will last you the rest of your shooting life so worth the investment.

G'day guys girls avid 4wder, camper and fisherman just making the next logical step to spend time in the bush, hoping to get into state forest shooting (mainly pigs and goats but wouldn't mind chasing deer in the alpine) after learning on a LA101 in 22LR though.
Cheers guys

Hi boys and girls and it's and things

Ive been registered for over a year now and this is my first post, better late than ever hey ;)
There is a huge amount of info on here and I like the varied opinions. I currently own the following;

.223 Howa HB Varmint in Boyd thumb hole
.22lr Norinco JW15A
12ga Uzcon 21" lever action

Mainly interested in shooting ferals but don't mind shooting paper off the bench every now and then if I can't get out in the field.
I live in sunny QLD and would be happy to meet any other queenslanders at the range for a meet and greet if there were anyone keen on meeting fellow shooters if that is acceptable around here. I would like to get into reloading in the future as well and am willing to learn off any experienced shooter willing to teach a new comer.

Cheers
HG

Sorry to be so late with this introduction. I saw something shiny & got distracted!
My name is Keith, & have been using guns since age 7 years. I am retired & a land owner. I am a writer, primitive skills instructor, woodman, 18th century living historian, an experimental archaeologist, video producer & book author. So much for being retired!!!
I do own modern guns, but my main interest lies in muzzle-loading guns & the equipment. I am getting on in years now, but I still enjoy historical trekking & camping.
Thank you for letting me be a part of your group.
Regards, Keith.
