Help me identify a .22 straightpull

Post by juststarting » 05 Feb 2017, 6:56 pm

Hi All

I was taking to a random dude at the range... And he mentioned that there's a model of starightpull 22 available in Australia, that requires you to pull the bolt back (open). But it snaps back into position (closed) with a spring. I think he may have said Marel or Merel or something that sounds like that. Google hasn't been kind to me, so I wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction. I can't seem to find anything remotely similar.

Cheers

ISSC make straight pulls in .22 .17Hmr and .22wm and I think there are a few in AUS I'm pretty sure don't know if this helps

Thanks Bushie. I have seen that one, but it still requires the bolt to be pushed by hand. I was (allegedly) told that this model snaps bolt in on its own. :/

Try Warwick firearms - they have a "bolt" action but it looks like a straight pull

Possibly it was a PWS (Primary Weapons Systems) which used to retail around the $1000 mark. Awesome little 22, takes a standard Ruger 10/22 rotary magazine, very accurate and there's one in my safe :)

I think Bentaz who is having technical difficulties and Albat go it.. Maral. But it doesn't come in 22. Think the dude may have been talking a little more general.

Second option, PWS. It does look sexy. Need to do a bit of reading on it though...

Crazy money if you ask me.

I guess that's the nature of buying in the early days when RND costs are still fresh.

If they take off and can build cheaper in the future I'd be tempted by one at some point.

Yeah, I don't think it's justified for that amount of money.
