So seeing that today in Europe is the anniversary of D-Day landings, I got shown a fascinating 20 minute WW2 documentary and if you like statistics and WW2 this may be for you.

My father served in the Pacific, U.S. Army, 11TH Airborne Division, he participated in the Liberation of the Philippines. Pearl Harbor was attacked on his 16TH birthday, by his 20TH birthday he was part of the Army of Occupation in Japan.

Dad said that his ship from the USA went to Australia, then they went to New Guinea, and from there to the Philippines'. Dad always had kind words and thoughts concerning the Aussies.
I've been asked: "How many guns do you need to have?" My answer remains the same: "One more."

Very interesting and sobering. Living in a western country we only really hear about our own casualties. The losses suffered by some countries was staggering.
