On the way home from the range

Post by Corn » 05 Jan 2018, 8:21 pm

Hey guys
I went to Springvale range this afternoon for a little but of fun.
Driving home, I was 2 streets from home when I saw a bunny sitting in someone’s front yard.
If only........

Go for a drive around the south-east of Frankston - tons of big juicy rabbits laughing at all the traffic :-)

Braeside park, EVERY TIME I go home from Springvale Range. Every freaking time, like the plague. Dozens of them, just on the nature strip, maybe 2-3m from the road. I feel good on the way home and then I pass the park and I feel bad, because I think there are laws against it or something.

They're there in droves, mate.

I used to live in the area and took my dog for a walk every morning before work, would always see them out while it was cool and quiet.

There's a golf course down the road I'm pretty sure is their secret hide out.

Yep, where I am the numbers are booming...and of course I'm not on rural land so shooting is off the table.
Last time I walked the dog earlier in the morning (~6.30am) around the walking track I counted over 30 (lost count) rabbits and a hare, and most of these buggers don't give a rats whether you come within a few meters of them. They aren't hunted at all so they just ignore people.
I don't think the new K5 virus has had as big an impact as the Gov hoped.
It'll shoot the fleas off a dog's back at five hundred yards, Tannen, and it's pointed straight at your head!
