Stupid Idea or stroke of brilliance?

Post by brett1868 » 30 Jan 2018, 5:56 pm

The Ukrainian Princess came home tonight and asked me to fix the zipper on her bag, cool no worries I can do that. Upon removing the contents I happened upon a Tampon, not unusual as she being female and all. A micro second after picking it up, the muscle memory recognised the diameter as being 0.5" and an idea instantly took form. What if I loaded one of these on a primed case? Great for removing or indeed oiling the barrel of the half inch collection. I'll try a few out and see what sort of velocity they achieve on the weekend :)

At first I thought you had invented some sort of new rapid insertion device.

But barrel cleaning works too.

I'm mad keen to try this out, some "load" development though seating depth can be a challenge so the missus told me. I'll fire up the Lab radar to get velocity and calculate the BC.
hey Wylie27, Whatcha doing Saturday afternoon? :)

Foam ear plugs have been tried they work, your princess might get upset at that time of the month if you use all her projectiles.

Lol do non shooters even know what they're missing out on? I considered (and measured) loading Jaffa's and Maltesers into my muzzle loaders but neither are close to the right caliber for any of my front stuffers.
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

I'll hit the feminine hygiene section tomorrow and see if I can get the ones for heavy days. The one I have is only 40gr and I might need something a bit heavier...There is an actual practical use I have in mind. I keep the barrel well oiled in the big 50 cause it only comes out to play 5-6 times a year, I look at this as a fast way to remove the oil and lay down a bit of carbon. I recall seeing the air rifle version now, not feeling so much like a genius anymore.
