I dunno; the tyres on our old HJ47 Landcruiser were labelled 'Light Truck', and much of the running gear on the Landcruiser was also used on (I think) one of the bus models, and one of the smaller Dyna trucks, from what I recall.
So, strictly speaking, they are both a 'Light Truck', AND a Ute.
In the last decade or so, though, Landcruisers have been sold/marketed as 'Landcruiser Utes'.
Nice Landcruiser; same year as mine, though yours has flares on the front wheel arches, and that bullbar angles out more than mine. I prefer your scrub-rails & side-steps to mine, though; beefier.
I run ROC 'Impact' alloy mags on mine, instead of those steel wheels you have. Just a bit lighter to lift them up onto the tray when changing one..
Do you have a standard tire underneath the tray as a spare? I have a standard underneath (cant fit a fat under there), and then a fat clamped onto the backboard at the front of the tray; behind the driver. The clamp can take 2 tyres, so I can carry 3 spares total if I do a run to somewhere like Birdsville..
I also have airbags on the back, with a compressor in the cabin behind the passenger seat. The airbags seem to be more than doubling the life of the rear springs, from what I can see.
I had a cruise control fitted after I buggered my ankle; the fly-by-wire throttle on them makes it pretty simple to fit one, and they reduce fatigue on long trips.
If it doesnt have one fitted, I'd also suggest a 'Return to Centre' steering damper. They dont cost much, and they take most of the wanderlust out of that steering as they age. Between the fat wheels, airbag rears and the RTC damper, my rig has proven to be very stable on a dirt/rough road, and feels very stable on the blacktop.
I REALLY like that Hi Lift jack setup; never thought of that as an option, but it might work really well....Hmmmm...
Cheers,
Rod.
