Safe and WAPOL Approvable Gun Safe Installation

Post by colin.rac » 29 Dec 2022, 4:55 pm

Just as I was drilling the holes into my wall for my gun safe, a discovered the house bricks are the hollow brick kind. I have 12mm by 75mm dynabolts, that of course cannot expand to fill a hollow brick, any of you encountered this issue before? If anyone has a solution that they have had approved for this that would be awesome.

Coach screws are an approved option on the form. Use an aggressive grip wall plug and it will not move.

Google search "Form 22 Storage Statement example" and you will see it mentioned.

Chemset anchors or similar (epoxy and threaded rod)

Even with hollow bricks (which almost all are) the dynabolts will still anchor. The hardest part is getting them to do up tight.
