Firearm License Precessing Time Blowout

Post by TigerPigeon » 21 Oct 2024, 8:00 am

Hi,

Is anyone waiting on an additional firearm license application taking longer than usual. Processing times historically have been 2-3 weeks. I'm currently waiting on an application after 8 weeks.

Cat A firearm. Only firearm of same type on license. Under 5 total firearms owned. 8 weeks processing with WAPOL.

WAPOL response is that application is progressing normally, however based on prior applications the last 12 and 24 months, I would dispute that.

I think they are doing it on purpose. Over the next few years the bans will get worse. The allowed numbers will get lower . It's about disarming the population. Think they are going to make it quite hard on you unfortunately. But end of the day no one stood up. Will happen everywhere sadly

I've had additionals take longer than 8 weeks in the past, but I've also had them back in 4. It's a crapshoot

I wouldn't be too concerned until after 12 weeks. Anecdotally, some people have been getting grief and a go-slow but if you are still going to be under the numerical limits, and not using a bought letter, then you should be fine
