Lever action magazine capacity

Hey all, i cant seem to find the allowable magazine capacity for a 22 lever action.. can some one help... i have been told it is a max of ten... i am looking at getting a uberti silverboy in 22 winmag... but i keep seeing its a 15 round mag... as these are being sold in WA are they legal ???..

Does the 15rd restriction only apply to detachable magazines?

Mags are capped at 10 rnds for all Cat A/B Firearms over your way, check Firearms Regs 2024 Sch 3.

Wow, that's a nuisance as I'm looking at going over in a few weeks for their Cowboy state championship.

I also noticed "non-imprinting ammunition", sabots are illegal now. So no more paper-patched bullets?

If you want to get REALLY pedantic, perhaps shotgun ammunition might also be prohibited - the "wad" is the discarding sabot that carries the shot through and out of the barrel.

It took a bit of searching, but finally found some references that suggests the Uberti 1887 Scout "Silver Boy" in .22WMR, is 11-round capacity in the mag.

I think the 15 rounds mentioned, is for the .22LR model.

Not that this solves the 10-round question the OP asked about, but I was confused was to whether the 22LR or the 22WMR model had the 15-round capacity.

Uberti dont list the Model 1887 or any rimfire rifles on any manufacturer websites I found, which is a bit of a pain.
Beretta Australia dont list the Uberti 1887 or the Scout, either(weird considering they are part of the Bretta Holdings group since 2000).
In fact, The Uberti 1887 Scout "Silver Boy" is a freaking hard rifle to find a manufacturers website for.
Found one site where they call it a 'Stoeger Uberti model 2201 - Made by A.Uberti'
Found a US auction website that lists the Stoeger Uberti Silver Boy .22LR Rifle in Factory Box, as being the model '2200'.
Seems that Stoeger acts as the Uberti import agent for firearms into the USA.

The 2018 Uberti catalog I could download from the official Uberti website(8 years old..) lists the Uberti 'Scout' [Page 61], but doesnt give any more detail.
But it's the only Uberti I lever gun could find that was chambered in .22 rimfire calibres, and it looks to be the same rifle as shown in various dealer websites here in Australia.
Maybe they have re-branded it in the past 8 years...
Finally found a 2026 Uberti USA catalog - no mention of any .22 rimfire firearms at all - weird.

Makes me wonder why it's so hard to find info on it, even though I quite like the rifle I'm seeing.

Given it seems to have that same style of magazine as the Henry where you remove the follower from the muzzle-end, it makes me think it wouldnt be hard to restrict to 10 rounds.

I reduced the Norinco JW21 from 15rd to 5rd by buying another tube and follower and cutting them down. The .38 Uberti I limited to 10rd by putting two .303 cases in the magazine tube so I couldn't accidentally load eleven.

Read some info that said the Uberti Silver Boy was only in production from 2012 to 2016?
The 22WMR version started production in 2013.
The 'Scout' is listed in the 2018 catalog, but doesnt appear in the 2026 Uberti catalog.

Just a thought; Might explain the lack of info on manufacturer website?

Despite what has been said here you will be fine as there is now no WA magazine limit on all A Class bolt or lever action rimfire rifles and to also let the cat out of the bag on the Cook Governments giant "public safety" screw up there is now also no magazine limit on all B Class bolt and pump action centrefire rifles , which seems to have been overlooked by all our firearm fraternity experts and Co.
