Letter for Safe Inspection

Post by Faedy » 21 Aug 2019, 11:35 pm

Got a letter today informing me that the Locals will be coming around to inspect my safe safes......
No issues here though - got a few extra bolts holding them down.
Will see how it goes.

I had my inspection between Christmas and new year they were very polite and helpful .I ended up buying a new gun safe and ammo safe from Bunnings as my old stuff was ordinary to say the least

Been nearly 4 years now since I got my license and I'm yet to be inspected or notified of one :unknown:

Its an old auditors trick. You give advance notice so the autitee has time to get their act together. That way its a happy ending for everyone. Personnally thats the way I would do it.

To be fair i think most police understand that LAFO generally try to do the right & understand its complicated & hard to get good quality info regarding requirements. IMO.

In 45 yrs I have only been inspected once.

^^^ spot on
No one wants problems and Im sure none of us want our guns stolen or confiscated.
I always over bolt my safes and have them under video surveillance etc.
I also photographed each stage of safe installation with ruler next to washers, pics of bolt packet etc just to make them smile lol

Well the working week has been and gone - no contact from to locals so must have just been a good PR stunt.

They will show up.The government has to act to assure the public that they are proactive on firearm security so they have overloaded the police and make them do safe inspections but if more important matters arise they prioritize that its not some plot
