Firearms Licence renewal

Post by Raptor209 » 10 Nov 2020, 11:42 pm

HI All,

Today I received the annual firearms licence renewal but this time it requests that a licence photograph and signature be supplied and certified by Australia Post. .
I don't recall being asked to supply this in the past 6 years in WA (Previously in NSW the photo was taken at the motor registry but there were no paper licences over there). I do have a useless WA plastic firearms identification card so i am assuming that that photo needs to be renewed ???

anyone aware of any changes before i call licencing in the morning ?

my previous usual process was to pay the annual fee and get the receipt attached to the licence and all was good

regards

never had an issue either I do know they like to have a picture roughly 5 years old or less for the motor vehicle license. so maybe its on par with that.

Yes, it's usual after 5 years to have a new photo in WA

i got the same this year.

Don't think you can go to your local post office either to get the picture taken. (read the small print)

You have to go to one of the major post offices that are on the system.
i don't expect to have to do it every year
