New mental health check

So... was expecting a thread about this today already. What's everyones thoughts on this? I read the ABC article, but didn't catch how frequent it'll be. Like yearly or what?

I think it's a load of crap. I don't mind getting the checks done at all. But i'm gonna go ahead and guess that WE have to pay for it too?

when is it due to come into effect ???... are applications that are awaiting approval etc going to have to be assessed before aproval ???... I.E. i submitted my application for my first firearm license three weeks ago, so still in the 28 day cooling off period, but will i have to now undergo a mental health assessment before approval is given, making the wait time much longer than it is now ??>>>
