Police State! That's a bit harsh. I think police state is a long bow

WA, well, they could be headed in that direction. But not the rest. But there have been concerns,. We are still a democracy, a police state is not.

I disagree.
And this legislation is case in point. The police are making the laws.
Therefore the police govern.
There’s no democratic process involved.

Technically in a police state the executive makes the laws and uses the police to govern.
We’re a step past that.

:unknown: I guess we just keep going until we have one police each.

No, the Police are recommending the law changes to the Minister. Parliament change the Act. As per our democratic system.

Agree. That's how it has worked for yonks. Same with all departments/ministries.

No parliamentary debate, no amendments accepted (repeatedly voted down), no public consultation, questionable tactics regarding the stakeholder consultation process, and no submission to any parliamentary committees.

Stretching democratic process in my book.

Generally amendments are accepted to get it through both houses. In this case Labour have clear control of both houses.

Funny that Labour won the last election with a massive landslide, yet nobody seems to have voted for them :allegedly:

WA government at it again with their war against LAFOs.

RAAF Base Pearce airspace had to be restricted to fire high-powered rifle for media demonstration: reports
