Well, there go all the Verney Carron lever release and all it's copies. Was always going to happen and when you read the emails between State police members discussing these types of firearm you could see it building. The A22R only exists as Cat A because of a wording stuff-up at Customs, but they were focused on the shotguns after the Adler kerfuffle.

i had trouble making sense of the article but it appears to be trying to making it easier for military suppliers to supply the army and to create a new category of shot gun, i guess which will be all but break open shotties. the pollies obsession with shot guns is just weird

This is why we need a strong local firearm industry in this country. The fed hates how they have no control of firearm laws so they try to restrict what we can import. Well they can stay down in Canberra and we will legally and lawfully make our own firearms.

I really hate the liberals
This would be a coup de gras for them, a final blow that would decimate us. They’ll do anything to pull this off.
We might need to actually march in the streets for this one, each and every one of us. And theres more of us than they let on.

Shooting is the fastest growing sport in Australia. Both the liberals and the greens are going hard to curtail it, theres even a nationals member in that proposal, it’s sickening.
The greens are genuinely scared because we’re coming and we will outnumber them.
The coalition has to go. That’s looking likely anyway, but now it’s imperative.

yep and don't think this isn't labors modus operandi either, they're both rife with enmity to us as shooters, and are both self serving leeches who do very little for the people of Australia.

UPDATE:

Good news. If the magazine is 5 rounds or under it will remain a cat B for purpose of import. State laws may differ.

This is good news, and improves the possibility they may forego the visit to self-ejecting rifles that they have been talking about for the last couple of years. Sadly unlikely to help the NT but good for others. A Veloce for Xmas? (after winning the lotto to pay for the over-priced bloody things)

Dumbest most pointless function on a firearm I’ve ever seen.
But hey, i guess it prevents people from turning into homicidal maniacs.

A rifled barrel version would get me interested.

Why total waste of time we tried Marching in 96 never change the bloody thing in there was more than 500,000 of us .
Yes we could march but they quite simply don't give a fuk even if there was 5 million of us they would still sign the papers and bend us over .

Very interesting. I wonder what happened?

What's also interesting is NIOA trademarked the name "BUSHMEISTER" in 2017 but let it lapse in 2018.

No clue on what happened but if you watched their initial YouTube video on the gun, with some ammunition it wouldn’t lock back but had enough inertia to cycle the next round. I suspect it was too much like a semi auto in that case?

That's what I was wondering. Even the guy in the vid kind of noticed it and decided not to pull the trigger in case the carrier went far enough back to reset the trigger.

Well that's just great. Guess I'll just have to stick with the triple barrel and 3 ammunitions.

Well, that said I think it's high time the Turks put the lever on the same side as the thumb and make it a button with a ball bearing so it is an improvement over the verney carron.

It might not have nothing to do with the lever because CZ uses a similar action on the 22s. Maybe its the bolt or the mechanism that locks the bolt back?

I have no idea I'm just throwing it out there.
