Queensland law does not make the distinction between categories of firearms and transportation. It is also incredibly vague with section 96 of the weapons regulation covering it and kind of 95 also.
All it needs is to be in a lockable boot or in a secured container(gun bag) inside the vehicle and out of sight or to be inside a locked and fixed metal container(tool box) on the vehicle.
That is it and is covered under section 96.
Now section 95 talks about storage when you are away from your secure storage location. That mentions that when it is not in your physical possession that it must have the bolt removed or trigger locked fixed or stored in a locked container which is a boot or inside a vehicle and out of sight if it has no boot.
Now the vauge part is what happens if you stop to get fuel or urinate? Is the firearm being stored or is it being transported so what section would apply?
