Importing Laserlyte laser trainer?

Post by canuck » 02 Apr 2016, 9:56 am

Hi guys!

Recently I found out about shopmate (pretty much a US shipping forwarder by AusPost) and went ahead on amazon to buy a laserlyte 9mm trainer.
Now to reasonable folk, its a laser pointer that fits in your barrel and is activated by a drop of the hammer, a laser bore sight even.

AusPost considers it a dangerous item/etc. Yes, I can see where they are coming from. However my question is whether anyone has had any success or even suggestions how to get this $80 impulse purchase into Aus(NSW)?

Provided it's under 1 milliwatt you shouldn't have any issues.

If you want to be cautious you might want to just apply for a B709B (http://www.police.nsw.gov.au/services/f ... or_weapons).

That should do it.

It reminds me of a $5000 or so system I saw once that records your shot hit on the computer. Obviously a very different type of laser system.

OK - I want! What a great idea. Please keep us posted as to your progress, as if you succeed, I would be very interested in obtaining one too!
