Hard case travelling legalities

Wasn't sure this post belongs but its for a BP so here it is.

I'm looking at buying a fowler that's 54" long. It won't fit in my hardcase and I can't find any reasonably priced ones anywhere.

I've looked but can't find an answer, would it be legal to travel on flights with a home-made wooden gun case? Any direction would be appreciated.

If it is well made and securely locked, yes, no problem. just make sure your chosen airline accepts firearm transport as not all do, Cheers.

Yes, so long as it is locked and unloaded.

Wont be an issue, just dont make it too nice cause they will do their best to f*** it.

There is no requirement to transport a firearm in any type of case in Victoria, just guidelines on good ways to do it.

There are laws about storage/travel it while in recognised deer habitat.

As with Airlines, they have their own requirements, so best to check with them as you may have to follow the laws/rules from both the departing and arriving locations.
