Are there any issues with loading 45-70 cartridges with the traditional 70gr of black powder, for use in modern Marlin lever actions?

None at all. Just prepared to clean properly EVERY time you shoot it as the crud is the same for one shot as for fifty! BP residue isn't corrosive in itself but it is hygroscopic (absorbs moister from the atmosphere) and it's that moisture that's corrosive. You won't get 70 grains in a shell as modern shells are made differently and don't hold as much. You'd get about 65gn of 3F in there And it'll be full but all BP shells are. Lady Noisy shoots an original Winchester '92 in .32-20 that has nothing but BP in it.
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.
