Black Powder Photo Gallery

I know there's a few BP shooters here so I thought it might be fun to start a black powder photo gallery.

That's enough to generate a certain...turged tumescence! I'll add pics to this thread after Sunday.

Propper rollies ! I like the look of that.
I might do some homework on these paper cartridges.

Took third place with this rifle and its cartridge on the weekend with a score of 84, shot off hand at 60 yards. The bullet is up sized from .575 to .579/.580 for a better fit in my barrel.

Are the ballistics about the same as a shotgun solid.I see that you dont have gas checks.Would really not wish to step in front off that bigass slug

It shoots 12" high at 80 yards and dead at 120 with a 65 grain charge of 2F. More powder significantly increases recoil without flattening trajectory.

You mean you actually size up and existing bullet or they're cast bigger than standard spec to start with?

Yes I size them up! Minnie bullets are made from pure soft lead so I machined a simple die so I can squeeze them lengthways and make them swell to the required diameter. It doesn't take much pressure to move soft lead 4-5 thousands and it took away the random bullet strikes and shrank groups by inches.

Here ya go BigPete. My two Blackpowder Cartridge Rifles.
Top one is a Shiloh Sharps. Caliber .40-70 Straight Sharps. I use this one for Silhouette.
Bottom is a C.P.A - Stevens in .45-90. I had this one built for long range Blackpowder target shooting ( out to 1100 + yards)
Both fire cartridges but loaded only with blackpowder and cast lead projectiles.
Note the height of the rear sight on the bottom one, that's the 1000yard setting.

Its hard to be bothered picking up anything designed after 1900 once you're bitten. They're all just so...well...BORING!
