No surprise with the outcome.... it was just a show for the cameras really...

The official COAG statement;

https://www.coag.gov.au/meeting-outcome ... ember-2016

COAG meeting Communiqué, 9 December 2016
Friday, December 9, 2016

.
.
.

National Security, community safety and social cohesion

.
.
.
COAG agreed to strengthen the National Firearms Agreement (NFA) by reclassifying lever action shotguns with a magazine capacity of no greater than five rounds to Category B and those with a magazine capacity of greater than five rounds to Category D, and to task the COAG Law, Crime and Community Safety Council to finalise and implement the updated NFA as soon as practicable.

The Adler has nothing to do with National Security, neither with Community safety, certainly not social cohesion.... what a lot of crap.

So there it is. It done there, now they move on to shoehorning the state firearms acts / regs...

It sucks and it's pointless. I expected worse, though.

....SSAA, as quiet as a mouse. Yet, reading the latest, they seem to have the funds to do something, just chose not to.

I'm looking forward to the videos of people shooting seven shots from the 5 shot rapidly, such a crappy piece of legislation, I don't blame the firearm community at all for the outcome, this s**ty rhetoric of opinion trumping fact has been in place since the NFA came about, the political class hasn't changed its mind on firearms in 20yrs, why would they listen to reason now.

Today, Jay Weatherill, in relation to climate change hoohaa, these mongrel clutching at carbon trading revival, pleading for EVIDENCE BASED policy...

FFS, you cant make this shet up.... in the same breath calling for, and getting Adlers grouped with semi-auto 308wins, on the basis of a media scare campaign...because the street would otherwise run red with blood after hordes of crime gangs and terrorist access the century old tech shotty, INSTEAD of semi and FULL auto detachable mag rifles..... that are no doubt a lot easier to obtain than a licensed registered shotgun....

Agree with all of above. Totally irrational.

We already have the Aussie version.... its a woman and when she was destroyed back when she first entered parliament, arguable becoming the first (only?) political prisoner this country has seen.

She's back now, and she's learnt a lot over 20yrs.

Pauline Hanson and her 'One Nation Party'.... she'll likely/possibly take enough QLD seats in their next state election to form a coalition govt, at least a balance of power....

The times they are a changing her, this latest traducement of lawful Australian shooters is one of the last nails in the coffin of the National party, not enough for Joyce to have an opinion at one minute to midnight...

Qld politics needs a huge shake up, our state is falling behind at an alarming rate, the Bruce highway is down right dangerous in parts when it rains, especially up north around Mackay, potholes large enough to swallow a mini.

We don't have public land hunting, can't drive our 4wds in most national parks, can't drive on most beaches without expensive permits, talks of introducing fishing licensing, it's becoming a joke.

Brisbane has taken all the profits from the mining boom and has now taken all the jobs with wholey FIFO mines and 457 visas, it's gutted towns like Mackay, Blackwater and Moranbah.

I was lucky enough to have a liberal democrat candidate to vote for last election who managed 7% of the vote so there is hope if they can truly get off the ground, as I think people like the message, it's just not getting out there enough/given a chance by the news and media.
