Are cops just incompetent?

Here is another case where cops are asked for assistance and do SFA.

How often does this happen?

Then if firearms are involved (not in this case) we are expected to suck up more restrictions.

I am no apologist for the government and police but how are they meant to do anything if old mate has not broken the law? It says she went to the police for help but in what context? Being a creep is not a crime.

"They don't need to wait until something happens, they need to protect, they are here to protect"

Literally the very nature of the police is to wait until something happens. This is not like that movie minority report where police arrest you for crimes you commit in the future.

All I get from this article is concealed carry of firearms should be legal because people need to be able to defend their life.

Old fashioned policing went out the window years ago., and common sense and logic, with it. Now it appears that the average copper is only trained with what the powers that be, want them to know. I must admit that I have had encounters with some coppers who carry out their duties with diligence and fairness as well as with a good interpretation of the law in question.
Others, sadly, not so good. It is the luck of the draw, I guess. :?

Agreed. Old school policing was good. Flogging creepy ex boyfriends and thugs. Driving drunks home from the pub etc. Actually making the community a better place. Still was a lot of corruption though back in the day. Police getting their paper bags full of cash etc. These days policing is about revenue raising and being an enforcement arm of the incumbent government.
