That is very bad news. I wonder, is that to help Ukraine or other sinister reasons?

Yes it’s bad news, the election is coming up in US so people go crazy. Don’t know if that would have anything to do with, but I would speculate the reasons are more than just Ukraine.

wondering if it’s worth going and grabbing some more ADI powder?

There might be a few thinking that.

Holts have APS950 in stock today it seems.
$100 for 500gm or $370 for 2kg, not bad at all.
Hopefully the faster powders aren't far off now.

That's unexpected.

BR, is that between AP70 and AP100?

Edit: do you know if it's recent production?

I think APS950 is the replacement for AP100, so the slowest of the pistol/shotshell powders. I don't think they have any load data for APS950 in any chambering on the website yet.

I remember them posting a few days ago that they were expecting it so my understanding is that it is new production.

Wow, I wish.
I've been chasing pistol powder for 44mag pop tarts for YEARS for the Blackhawk... and a gunshop down in Warwick charged me $145/500gm last week, and I only was allocated one bottle. Thank goodness 9mm was so cheap a couple of years ago, so we stocked up for the farm pistols.
People up here have been chopping open 12g trap loads to continue pistol shooting here at local clubs, I'm told. For light loads for paper. Could this be true? That's dedication.

Geeze it's hard to get supplies of this stuff on the west side of the Great Divide. Shops here say, no, we aren't getting allocated any, and mostly dont even know of its existence here. If it wasn't for forums like this, we'd think there was no powder or primers at all. Far out

Mate we routinely do a 10-hour round trip to pick up out ammo supplies, can't see paying the DG freight charges as well but always time it with something else that needs to be done..
Yeah I only wanted some pistol powder for a 44mag so I can use hard cast commercial lead projectiles in very reduced loads for temporary residents of pig traps or for euthanizing stock. The big slow 240gn'ers in low loads punch through anything's head without the blast, rocks and dirt blowing everywhere.

What's great though is all the cheap bulk 9mm hollowpoint factory stuff, works great in fact I think a better cartridge for that so I swapped guns and I haven't looked back.

Even the big shops in Bris had no pistol powder when we used to get down there. Heaps of 06H, 09, 2217, 2225 which I also use in rifles. Gazillions of pistol primers though. Oh well, got some now.

If you only want reduced loads for the .44 anyway I'd experiment with AR2206H or AR2208.
12gn of AR2206H in 9x19mm with Berry's 124gn Copper-Plated bullets only makes 560fps for me.
