Drove passed there the other day. Hopefully all will be revealed and it will be business as usual. Not sure if the "new owner(s)" will keep the name though as when I drove passed, there was no Magnum Sports on the front street awning.

It is F’ed how an employee doing illegal things can shut a legitimate business down.

When I worked with BHP one of the blokes was arrested for selling drugs. Does that mean BHP should be shut down?

Removing legal dealers is a way for them to hinder legal gun ownership.

Punish the criminal not the people doing the legal thing.

We can only hope they have the buying power and do the discounts the last owner did.

Sad really as he did more for Sydney gun prices than the other big shops combined.

Is it even a new owner or just a new dealers licence? The owner of the business does not need to be the registered dealer. They just need someone with a dealers licence. So maybe nothing will change as the old owners kin or mates now have gotten a dealers licence.

Sorry mate can’t do. In the absence of evidence speculation is paramount.

It's all speculation apart from those in the know or when it happens.

It's all gun talk and local happenings and that's why most of us are here.

dont know about that ,,
they wanted 300 plus for super roos when i could buy them for 190
some prices weren't bad
i stopped going there years ago just cos of the workers
but then again most gunshop workers annoy me
no better than used car salesmen

Yeah, the best deals were mainly rifles, but they did include decent scopes in the sales and I should have bought a GRS stock as the prices on the plastic model could not be beaten.

I never bought projies as they were just the std price and when I see the shops charging $300 for super roos, I jumped on the Cleavers sales, and then got a few thousand more. I should be right for cheap shooting for some years more.

I did buy 200 rounds of Federal blue box in 6.5x55 as I needed the brass and it was the cheapest way, shot really well too.
The same sale had bricks of RWS 22lr subs for $85 so I got a brick as well, was about $145 a few weeks later.

In a way, I hope the old owner is involved. If not, I hope he sold the warehouse as well so they can at least try and buy the bulk supplies.
They reckon no one else can buy from NOIA at near the Cleavers prices and those Super roos doubling in price may be the same, gotta buy a couple of pallets or more.

I just.want.to point out this advice is factually incorrect in NSW

Firstly, it was not advise, it was speculation on what could be occurring. Secondly, It is not incorrect. The owner of a gun shop business does not need to be the registered holder of the dealer licence. One can own the business entity but not have the dealer licence in their name.

Please don't post crap.

Alex I don't think you understand how the Act works in NSW or any state, the Commissioner can apply the Act as they see fit.

For example the building lease needs to be in the Dealer name for him to get a licence, how a gunshop is funded is a whole different kettle of fish and I'm not sure what that has to do with anything ? I do know Banks wont lend to fund a gunshop.

Scroll down to part 5 Firearms Dealers to get a basic understanding of how serious the Act is and failure to comply, add in NSW police with NSW firearms and you have a potent mix if you fail to comply with the Act
