Firstly Womble, thanks for putting that up.

Couple of things here, it always appals me that hunters haven't been given the opportunity to undertake in government land hunting. A great system exists in NSW with the SF hunting, a proven system. Of course then, in Victoria. OK, I'm a Queenslander where we aren't allowed this type of thing, but I've seen for myself how this basically fuels and underpins many businesses in Vic country towns. And feeds the families of real, down to earth people. The kind of people who make Australia.

I've been invited twice by the Qld Govt to write up submissions on/about a national park I share a boundary with, on the Qld "dingo fence", in which deer, pigs and feral dogs multiply and cause landholding businesses all sorts of financial and stock issues. I've recommended the NSW system tor licensed hunters to be able to attend this wilderness park (plenty of 4WD tracks and camping areas already exist) but both times only ever get an acknowledgement of submission, never any indication anyone is listening.
It just doesn't suit their narrative. Basically of giving hunters more justification and genuine need to justify owning firearms for recreation and the purpose of perhaps feeding their families and ease the cost-of-living burden that they, the governments in Aus, are inflicting on the people through their mismanagement and what's quite obvious, evil intent on controlling every aspect of our lives.

Problem is, running states and a country requires the people entrusted in doing so, be bona-fide, proven business managers from all fields, coming from proven practical fields such as economics, defence, manufacturing etc.
But no, the public vote in useless, political activist trash from either side of politics, professional liars, backstabbers and con-artists that are there purely from a narcissistic personality, people who otherwise would be nothings in society.
Those that have the skills are held back and belittled or told to tow the political line, or lose their plum jobs.
In other words, they cannot and will not see the benefit of the people, "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours", as in hunters doing the work for them.
But no, how dare we give the gun owners more justification to prove how they can solve this problem for us?

That clown from the so-called "deerstalkers assn" who says, aerial shooting has it's place but... No it f**king doesn't, because the alternatives HAVE NOT been tried or even considered, you stupid peabrain.
Imagine if the petrified of the public monsters in government actually had a system of promoting hunting, had so for years and hunters had been gathering healthy, natural protein from these forests for years? The story WOULD NOT need to include expensive, ineffective aerial shooting.

And here I'm going to upset some people, but that SFP NSW clown and his innuendos, unproven accusations and basically, terrible effort in debate in that political representation. I shook my head at him discrediting himself and then post up the video in some perverse self-destructive move. Is that the best that they can find?

Politicians mostly have no work experience though many have legal backgrounds.

Katter is the only one I can think of that actually worked for a living originally.

A few have defence backgrounds

But overall they're very isolated from the rest of us. And the longer they are in politics the further removed from society they get.
The society they remember has moved on.

So, to prove a point, this is an email I received a week ago about a baiting programme currently underway over my back fence, right now.
A park where I was invited to suggest alternatives, and didn't even get the dignity of a "Thanks, but no thanks".

My point being, ongoing attention by hunters could have been part of some healthy camping trips that could actually provide this service all year round, for free. And contribute to the welfare of the native animals currently being gobbled up by feral animals.
The Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby is now extinct in this park, due to concentrated feral animal predation, however it exists over the fence in my place, in the rock gorges and steep country out the back. How do I know this? Because some Qld Uni environmentalists camped up there 2 years ago for a week and found and photographed them and reported they were doing well.
It exists in our joint because we manage feral animals ongoing, because that's what farmers do.

Finally, this park has a week-long helicopter aerial shoot in mid-winter, once a year as well. Every year without fail, at taxpayers expense.

I'm also part of a Facebook group trying to lobby the State Govt to allow hunting in state forests in Qld using the NSW model as a successful example, but so far no success whatsoever.
And some germ here on this forum actually accused me of not supporting hunters. FMD. Why should I GAF about people like that, but I do because we are all in it together.

Cut and paste from the email below, with details of individuals redacted:
