ACT 5-gun limit for next week's sitting

Post by Wapiti » 02 Feb 2026, 3:18 pm

Can someone confirm this?
Heard a quick story on the local gaybc country radio station in the shed this morning, I just caught the end where some politician was saying it only makes sense to protect the community from the houses "full of guns waiting to be stolen or handed out for some organised resistance".

Every now and then, one of those dribblers screws up and let's out that it's really about control for our future pleasure, at the hands of the lowest and least qualified forms of life in this country.

Apparently a discussion between NSW, ACT and VIC string-pullers has been underway since NSW announced their intentions, apparently desperate for support as of so far, only Minns has overreacted and seeks to take the heat off himself for not being able to keep his emotions in check and stop and think.

heard about proposed ACT laws on my local radio . it's due for discussion next week apparently . limit of 5 , expanded to 10 for competitions and people who need them to make a living . sadly , some of those old topics "which five guns would you own " have come to pass by the look of it . i bring up the topic subtly when i can with people i meet . the secretary at my local GP was pretty incensed about the public being played for fools by comrade albanese . you'd be surprised how many everyday people say that to me. some are quite interested to hear the other side of the story from LAFO's too . i just hope all these everyday people remember all this commie sh!t next election

Members at my club will be mighty pissed off. I dont know anyone there that doesnt have at least 15 -20 combined long and short arms. I'll have to cull at least 7 of mine.

NSW, ACT and expect the other labor VIC stooger to follow suit.

Mate this country IS NOW OFFICIALLY A COMMY SH*THOLE.
What was the best country in the world is now infested with imported failure and run by monsters, deliberately installed by voters too low in IQ to see what they've done.

Edit: I've removed the rest of what I wrote because also in this country, we cannot even do anything but keep our own thoughts in our heads. We now cannot speak of how disgusted some of us are at what this country has become in but a few years.

Yes they can because armourers can own prohibited items. Machine guns etc.

This 4/5 guns per license is utterly ridiculous.
It’s complete bulls**t. Blanket laws without any common sense or any effort to target real criminals.
It always amazes me when I go to a nice restaurant in Germany with my wife. It is not uncommon to see a well behaved dog on the floor of the restaurant or even in large shopping centres. Well trained, and not causing any problems for anyone else.
When I asked a local about this, his explanation is “If that dog doesn’t behave or is not trained correctly, we punish the owner “.
It’s that f***ing simple, common sense. Punish the source of the problem.

Country Hunter Ownership Rules
New Zealand Unlimited A‑category
Canada Unlimited non‑restricted
United States Unlimited long guns
United Kingdom Unlimited shotguns; rifles justified
Germany 10 long guns typical
France Unlimited Cat C
Finland Multiple; storage scrutiny

Agree with you but it's not about common sense, it's about death by a thousand cuts and eventually completely disarming Australians.
If there is anyone out there that hasn't realised this yet, please do and focus your energy instead on convincing others to join the party that wants to throw this all out, and fix everything else that is being used to butt-f**k us all.
Two years is a long time, and Albanese knows by the next election he will virtually be the most unelectable politician in Aus's history, so he's going to go hard to screw us all down.

Pump or semi shotguns or rimfire were not used in Port Arthur but they restricted them.

It is all about using the opportunity to ban as much as possible whilst the iron is hot.

The only gun law they never went down is capping how many you can own. Now they are doing that.

1990(QLD) just get a paper licence thats all we want.

1996: we just want your self loading long arms and Register what you have thats it.

2002: we just want to restrict some of your pistols thats it.

2016: we just want to restrict mag capacity thats it

2025: we just want to restrict how many you can own thats it.

See how they start with the low hanging fruit then go more and more. These scumbags will never stop.

I can't see this country ever reversing or relaxing the firearms laws, unless there's an infallible way that the firearms will never be used against humans.

Sometime in the future, when we're all implanted with a microchip, and permitted to own a firearm or fifteen, the said firearm will be disabled when attempting to take the life of another human.

Only the cops and military will be have their chip programmed to bypass this while on duty.

I don't think so mate, they won't be able to do that.
By then Australians will be so overly taxed that they will be in debit negative every payweek to Bucky Jimbo.
Cheaper to ban the guns entirely, as well as everything other than plastic spoons.

Heard from a fellow shooter that SSAA ACT are offering the AB firearm course for free for SSAA signed up members in March and April.

Save $50 for each person especially when trying to apportion the 10 gun limit towards the family.

Even more madness,,
Everyday ordinary LAFO's are being squeeeeezed by firearm ownership caps (just in case one loses the plot), so all things being equal, why don't the powers to be apply the same paranoia to Armourers.
Or are they immune ?

Remember, that to get a fireams license one has to be sane, of good character, and not have criminal records.
What happened to that :unknown: :unknown:

Now, we are deemed to be guilty before any offence has been committed.
