It will be, like it is now, on the primary producer to control feral animals as a direct responsibility, and/or participate in control programs as required by local or state authorities.

Poisoning, trapping and aerial shooting by "professionals" will be either part or fully funded by the respective councils, paid for through the rates charged to the unfortunate landowners, or in the case of WA, most likely completely the responsibility of the affected farmer.

Private urban based sporting shooters will not be participating in this whatsoever in the future.

well a professional was engaged to remove a few pigs on one the properties I have access to and he came up empty handed, lucky for the land owner an urban based sporting city drove 2 hrs and thermaled thru the nite and got the job done, 50 pigs removed over the last year off only 180acres and all the neighbour on around 2000 acres are happy as (LLS spent more than $250K last year and could only remove 1000 pigs from the region over a 2 week period) you do the math Wapiti :drinks:

Not being a sh*t stirrer here, but not much of a professional if a private sporting shooter did a better job.
Either the story you were told is BS or the pro isn't one.

“Pro shooter” is a dubious term. I make some money from guns so I guess I am a “pro” even though I can't shoot for sh**.

It is not that hard to get professional condition codes on your firearms licence.

Well maybe he local shooter wasnt professional enough or deemed the terrain not up to his liking

Dissing shooters who work hard to get the job done for older farmers is kinda poor form if you ask me

Still waiting.

Anybody can search my posts and see me constantly jumping up and down in support for urban hunters and shooters, mostly making a d*ckhead of myself, even though I don't need to in the slightest.

Redeem yourself. You know you want to.

No need to redeem myself wapiti you were happy to diminish the contribution of urban based sporting shooters at the drop of a hat.

Caught up with 2 cockies this morning after a big nite thermalling and both were happy with my recent efforts. What might happen in your neck of the woods certainly isn't the norm around here.

Wapiti's attitude goes to the heart of the failure in WA, this ain't a bitch fight, it's the ignorance and arrogance on display that locks out some of the biggest stakeholders in the debate

Urban based sporting shooters, in NSW we fought and got State forested opened up and they play a role in feral control and game management, often these same hunters seek and then take up feral management on farms that don't have the time or resources. I currently pay the bill for LLS to use Helicopters when land based hunter would deliver a better financial outcome.

As has been said many times. Untill all the firearm stake holders work together as a single team we are divided we will fall.

The government's see us as an easy political target if not the enemy.

Part of the fight needs to be with the media. They just view us as a way to increase profits by knifing us. They, and Hollywood have convinced the general population that we are all potential murderers.

The general population needs to understand that we are a resource that can reduce ferals, not the evil gun owners that the media and government make us out to be.

I guess I'm just stating the obvious tho.
