With the sad happenings in NZ of late being sad for all concerned but would it make any difference to have them go ahead with the Anzac events is not a celebration its to give thanks to those who served and to mourn those who paid the ultimate price or do we just forget that in some areas i would like to know the (real) reason for doing this

I don't think it's to do with anyone thinking it's a celebration, it is more to do with their Gov't bowing even further to the Chch terrorist (and all terrorist for that matter).

Canceling public ANZAC services in the name of security and flooding the streets with police will only raise anxiety levels. Life needs to go on as normal as possible.I suspect it is a deliberate tactic to scare the public into supporting the government’s actions which will include not only firearms restrictions but the erosion of rights and increase in government power over citizens. A classic socialist ploy.

Just another cunning tactic by Freemason Illuminati socialists, to convince the public to hand over all their guns to the lizard men.

And what are they gonna do, start arresting people who show up at those cenotaphs at 0428 to observe the minute's silence, yeah right. You do not need the Gov't/police permission to commemorate those who gave their lives to give you the freedom to do so.

Thousands of soldiers who gave their lives for our freedom just turned in their graves.

This is very sad news.

I hope that there's still a strong turnout despite events being "cancelled "

They fought against extremism, they gave the ultimate sacrifice for us, we will stand together and remember them.

My opinion is by the NZ government doing this they are only going to create more problems than they think there are many people who want and need those Anzac parades and functions to sooth the loss of past loved ones i honestly believe this decission will be a major factor in the NZ priminister loosing the next NZ election i might be wrong but lets see :silent:

Well thats what you get with a nation that is full of PC softo's sorry to any kiwis that aren't but the majority of kiwis seem all to eager to tow the line, virtue signal, roll over and kiss ass... This garbage is evidence of that. totally spitting and s**ting on the lives lost during WW1 WW2 and Vietnam etc.

You'd think cancelling the nation's most sacred day out of 'security concerns' is the same as submitting to terrorism. Shame really.

Maybe some of the politicans should serve in the military before being allowed to be a politician bit like some American pollies then they may see what Anzac means to some people they didn't stop the Anzac Parades in Tasmania because of Port Arthur shootings ,As bad as the shootings in NZ was the Gov should not take it and use it as a lever for its own purpose was not the lives lost both NZ and Australian just as important as the lives of the people sadly lost not so long back in NZ there is no doubt that we all mourn these people lost but to stop other people for mourning their lost then it leaves a question of what is the main reason behind the the decission to favour one over the other is it their lack of knowelege of never being there or not having to rely on mateship in warfare or lack of the true feeling of sheer loss of family and mates that comes with war or is the gov using it for a lever for its own purpose if anything both situations deserve respect but not one over the other in any instance what so ever , this will be another instance where the gov has created a divide amongst people rather than bringing them together

the murderer is getting his way
he wanted to put a wedge in between people and cause disruption as he wrote in his manifesto
NZ polies are just making the most of it and bending there people over for him, political convenience
the polies fail to admit that this is because of a massive failure of security agencies and police
whats the difference between crowds of people coming out respecting the massacre victims to show support
or respecting the anzac legends
the polies should serve in the military before becoming polyscum :drinks:

its a political stunt to lend weight in the public eye to the law changes. Terror alerts are for organisational level threats or where threats are determined to have reasonable chance of re-occuring. A lone gunman whether he kills 10 or 50 is a statistical anomaly and for the record a fairly minor fatality statistic. Normal suburban homicide and car crashes are far far more damaging and do not shut down Anzac day or anything else last time I checked- so this massacre certainly shouldn't either.
