Climate change is a wank always has been and always will be, commonsense and a little bit of understanding of how the world was before mass human population will soon show how much the world had changed over that period.

Sadly Climate change is just a big business and a grab for $$$$ and whenever $$$$ are involved it's open to manipulation to help secure said $$$.

I watched the vid.
It brought to mind the last time I wet myself laughing 60 years ago, at the cinema, watching a Tom & Jerry cartoon.

People still dont believe in climate change?

Name a system that you can add energy too that wont have a reaction.

Lol, i have not seen either videos, but did read the website.

With respect, anyone whip thinks all the pollution spewing into the atmosphere is not causing a detrimental effect, needs to get off their medications. Or maybe try and connect the exhaust of your car to a mask and breah from it for 10 minutes.

But the main question is, if the earth has enough in itb to purge all the pollution and make itself good again. And if it can somehow neutralise it how long it takes and how much is the maximum amount of pollutants it can do.

On the other hand i too agree that even if Australia decreased the total emissions too zero there will be an immeterial effecton the total yearly emissions.

Thus i also agree that this emissions tax will also be rolled by successive governments into general revenue. I did watch a video that explained that all products should have a carbon tax applied dependant on how much carbon is emitted in production of the gods or service, then all the moneys collected by this system should be evenly distributed to all residents in Australia. That way a rich person gets the same money as a poor person, but the incentive is to use products that create less carbon pollution.

They did explain a process for imported goods, as well.
Blame it on the phone auto correct

 Well get set for the show that is all set to happen in Brisbane and other Cities next Week.

" Extinction Rebellion radicals are vowing to bring Australia to a standstill for a week from Monday, using militant tactics to demand the banning of fossil fuels and 100 per cent renewable energy."

"Left-wing activists in Brisbane have so far been the most extreme, with their followers gluing themselves to the city streets."

Climate change...yes/no/maybe - but the latest figures show that 100 million barrels of oil per day, every day are being burnt by 1st countries...that’s a fair bit...resulting in 24 billion tons of CO2 per annum into the atmosphere. Surely, the natural earth does not process / handle that volume as a matter of normality...would it have happened anyway? Don’t know...

even so its complete idiocy for Australians of all people to give two s**ts about it.... we as a populace contribute less than 1.5% of annual emissions worldwide, even if we were able to abolish all of our emissions by next year China's and India's output is set to override that change anyhow, there are dozens more coal and fossil fuel power plants built every couple of years between both of them. Us committing financial and economical suicide and forcing recessions and austerity on ourselves is literally the stupidest thing we could ever do... anyone advocating that we do must literally HATE every other Australian including their children or the children of others. Australia will not be "setting an example" as we keep being told, it will just poise us for more international pressures and more takeovers from overseas interests... its literally suicide as a nation to buy into any of this climate bulls**t.

To be fair Flutch...we should rightly add in our share of pollution for what we import from overseas to our "carbon tally"...

BUT...

...I dont mean for that to detract from your point which i agree with...

You do know that the Ocean puts out more carbon than any many made efforts each day right? And without carbon we don't exist at all and less carbon is not good for the planet at all.

I love the way they always show the stacks on power stations with stuff coming out of them (steam) but they carry on and make out it's carbon that's coming out when it's really just water vapor for the most part.

not really, no, we shouldn't, anyone conceited enough to think they wouldn't just buy and consequently burn someone else's fossil fuels is only lying to themselves.

correct they also produce more methane and other gasses. and its not at a static rate and scientists have yet to be able to establish a correlation with those emissions and any other climatic trigger. so those emissions far in outweigh the production of greenhouse gasses by mankind yet there is assurance of how much per annum or at what rate it increases or decreases at any given time... so, in saying that, who can then determine what a normal level is? no one has recorded these things for long enough, we haven't the records... its all speculations, so some speculate that it is mankind, others speculate its not, neither can confirm either hypothesis without a long period and neither can assure that there wont be things that adversely effect their data, coincidence, natural cycles we haven't a grip on etc.

this doesn't even count rises and falls in both volcanic activity on land and on the seabed, natural fire from natural droughts, forest fires, natural permeating methane and other gasses from decay. the list goes on and on.. there really isn't a model that even closely accounts for even half of the variables nor would we have the actual data to construct one of these models if we were even inclined to do so.

Not at all what i meant...

was more illustrating for the sake of the broader audience rather than addressing you directly, however, I don't agree that we need to care about our footprint. Having been to third world Asian countries I can tell you, there is virtually nothing we do here that can be shunned as irresponsible in contrast.

Fair enough... :)

And again, i agree with you, but not what i was alluding to...

I was reffering to the big vicious circle & self defeating oath of hippocracy & stupid greed we so insist on living by in this country...

in simple terms...We buy washing machines from China...

It so happens that the carbon produced by their manufacture goes on to Chinas tally of carbon pumped into the atmosphere...

We also mine iron ore...we then sell it to China at incredibly cheap prices (we think its big value because we dont value add)...
But if we value added to our very own product & made our own washing machines, we would have that carbon tally on our list, as well as a self propelling, ever growing industry in washing machine manufacturing....this would lessen the fear of what you suggest here......
flutch wrote:Us committing financial and economical suicide and forcing recessions and austerity on ourselves is literally the stupidest thing we could ever do... . And no one will ever convince me we are not greedy...if we werent, why do we still have import tarrifs on cars, yet have no car manufactoring industry for those tarrifs to protect...???

We ARE committing suicide...because we as consumers have developed a view that we are entitled to earn $2000 per week, AND only pay $ 600-700 for a washing machine from China...instead of comfortably living on $1500 per week, & paying an extra 0.60 cents per week for our own Aussie made washing machine...(based on $1000 value machine with a 10 year life)...

We sell our richest & finite resource for a one-off nothing, dont manufacture/& or move our manufacturing off-shore to save a buck, & sell those "Aust owned" companies along with our land to foreign investors...

The fact we dont value-add our iron ore & are in the position we are in is beyond rational belief...i liken this to s**ting in your own bed, wiping your arse with the pillow, & then complaining to the media that you have to sleep with the stench of feces...

Can you imagine other countries that align with us doing what we do...?...

The state labour Govt here sold a 100 year lease for forrest /timber mill in the South East, for only 18 years of profit...that helped pay for our defunct new hospital & new footy ground..."Yippee"...

Doesnt matter...most of us South Aussies wont be here for the following 82 years because there arent enough beds in the new hospital & the incredibly high tech ridiculously expensive back-up deisel gen sets dont work to keep us alive...

Now im rambling delerium...but i agree with you...

Time for a beer me finks... :drinks:
