Let alone dad telling me in his day they could buy rifles at Kmart and just walk down the street with them.
Anything fun should be illegal.......

Air rifles required a firearm licence in 1980 in WA when I got mine.

Also with more trigger happy cops and iced up twits roaming the street do we need a spate of Cops shoots Gel blaster idiot stories.

With the Firearms laws in Oz already against legals weapons that look like assault rifle/AK47/SKS etc these arent going to help our cause.

Or maybe. MAYBE!!!!! They might get a lot of people to play with them and realise this is a fun pastime lets maybe move onto real firearms now. And more lawful people getting into firearms is a good thing.

If these things can really shoot 350-400fps, there half way there anyway...where is the line I guess ? Are they toys if they can imbed their projectiles under the skin ? How do they actually function - can they be improved upon like paint ball markers to pass that “line”? By the way, I was shot in the side of the mouth once with a paint ball (2 years ago now) - the guy who shot me accidentally, said my knuckle hurt more than a ball, but I don’t know, both hurt me.
