Does anyone have any idea whats going to happen with powder & primer sales if/when there is a complete shutdown of shops...?
Bullets can be posted, but powder is different...

Will they be able to sell it one on one out the back door...?...maybe through a holding hatch like when space ships dock...lol...?

Then there is post offices...will they be open...? :unknown:

The places that do have it will most likely be closed due to protecting their staff and the rest of the places will have sold out. I doubt ADI will shut the factory and if the exports are down they should actually catch up with powder stockpile. However they do have limits on how much they can store. Hopefully it wont all get exported when the exports are opened back up.

Expect price rises of around 25%

I’m in transport logistics and have been told today that we are considered essential services - so company’s like toll, seaquip, monsons, etc - will not be closing, this supplies will be making it to the depots at least.
I tried to buy a slab of win x 12g today, shop owner wanted $250...5 months ago, was $150.
I asked him about the hike and he said, it’s because they are trying to make up for shortfalls in sales in other areas and with the uncertainty RE staying open and other supplies - they need to feed their families too...
I didn’t buy the slab...but I can understand their uncertainties.

Well although we can all understand the 'want to feed the family' Tassie, we also dont want to be ripped off...& thats the thing...just creates a vicious circle...

And transport is necessary for food delivery...but probably not gun powder...

I wonder how long until we are shut down completely...?...will gun shops be open on Monday...?...doesnt look like it hey...!!

I started looking for stuff too. Two shops have sold out of the 243 fac ammo I was buying , My favourite pills and powder I can’t get but I think I can still get primers. I think we could be looking at least a few months of not being able to buy gear. At first we thought our suppliers would be low on stock now I get the vibe that even if they can afford to stay open they may be told to shut the doors. I won’t run out of hunting ammo. .. And as far as income goes I think I’m going to have to seriously drop rates and start working for lousy money And there’s so many worse off than me. Being able to earn income as a tradesman without human contact is going to be a real challenge I’m lucky I’m a solo operator with an occasional employee. If big construction sites were my thing I would be in trouble

It seems I have limited need for ammo, etc, since the range is closed, my club advises "Due to the virus all (club) events have been cancelled until further notice."

At the risk of upsetting others - it was interesting to read that the Police appear to be requesting new powers to track self isolation people via their mobile phones...tin foil hat or civil liberties being given up ?

Watching the PM's speech from last night

It feels like we've lost all of our freedoms last night
It really feels like every single thing was banned last night

When you look at what's happening in Europe and Iran though
I fully understand why our government is panicking

This disease is so extremely serious and dangerous

Just last night, we've had;
750x dead in Italy
500x dead in Spain
250x dead in France
150x dead in Iran
And the same kind of numbers are happening every single day now
And they have been happening for a while

I think that the shooting ranges will be closed for a very long time at this point..

For the people that don't have access to farmland
It's pretty bad unfortunately

I would think that a gun store would classify as an "essential service"
Coz some people rely on hunting for food
Hopefully the government sees it that way

We'll get locked up soon so unless you have a big backyard to pling or wild animal to hunt, shooting will be paused for a period of time. Experts are saying 4-5 months at a min.

TFE seriously chill down bro...i know for your generation a catastrophe is when your xbox doesn't work and the internet modem needs to be reset. Or when your local cafe runs out and you cannot have your smashed avo in the morning.

Think of the people a few years before you were born they didn't have TV or Netflix and still survived. Or when there was no drugs.....What you really need to worry about is that the whole of Australia only has 2000 ventilators, maybe learn a skill and make yourself useful... make a ventilator... incase you need one

It will be fine... you need to take a chill pill bro... maybe go back to your parents house and relax a bit

I think i scared the kid more

You really need to stay quiet Ziad.

You've down played this situation from the very beginning.
Now that's it's turned into a world wide catastrophe.
You're still down playing it.
When you were dead wrong from the start lol

Do everyone a favour.
Keep your low IQ comments to yourself.
You're an embarrassment to yourself.
Now is the time that you need to stay quiet.

Jees sorry if in upset you TFE.

don't you know i released this virus, actually i am gretta thunda in the outhouse, because you people didn't listen to my speech to teach you a lesson i released this new virus in China... because you all hate China. It was in virus jail and i pressed a button and it escaped. I did give it a pair of nike air walkers to make its escape.

Well on a serious note i have been saying that don't worry..i think i am starting to change my mind about the situation...but i didn't expect the govt to be such nincompoops... (did you work in a govt job TFE?)

Just read that a cruise ship with suspected cases of cronavirus was allowed to disembark all its 2700 passengers and crew without any tests in NSW, now atleast 100 passengers have been confirmed to have crona.

So maybe it will get bad... but one of Australia's most experienced and best virologist is saying don't worry...i rather listen to him then start doing what you are doing.... jumping up and down crying you all are going to die, you all are going to die.

1918 Spanish Flu:
2.5% death rate = 50x million deaths

2020 corona virus:
15% death rate = Potentially 300x million deaths

You can say whatever you want Ziad
But that's a very serious situation.
That's undeniable.

Of course it's serious. Not sure you can draw too many parallels with the Spanish flu in that epoch to what we're facing today, but setting aside the mortality and morbidity numbers, our hospitals and clinicians will be overstretched and could potentially collapse in a heap. Not to mention the ventilators and whatever else is needed.
I cant recall those dire circumstances with influenza over the years so we are way past 'its only the flu' rhetoric.

Aside from calling up retiree clinicians, the only country we could call on to help us out are the Kiwis. And that would depend on how they're going with it.
