Is it election time

Post by Wm.Traynor » 18 May 2020, 1:32 pm

The phone rang this morning, as it sometimes does and thinking that it was a return-call from my doctor, I picked up. The conversation went as follows:-
Caller: Hullo, Mr. ----
Me:: Yes
Caller: This is S!@#$% from the office of Brent Mickelberg......
Me (recalling the name) Oh! (recovering from shock) What flavour of politician is he?
Caller::: LNP
Me:::You mean those people who still support the '96 gun buyback!?

I could hear the caller's voice talking to thin air, as I gently placed the receiver beside the cradle and continued with my business before being so rudely interrupted.

Ah, so that explains why the Palaszczuk Labor Government put in a bid for Virgin?

Yes. It is a publicity stunt. They are way down the list so they wont get it but they did it for PR reasons so they can say they care about QLD jobs even though they have racked up over 100 billion dollar debt.

I’m pretty sure it was the labor gov in Qld that seriously helped our graziers install new cluster fencing to help make land more viable. It’s the first time I have seen the labour govt do something I approve of. Other than that I have no time for them

The Labor grubs are so anti agriculture it beggars belief, the vegetation laws that Palaceduck has pushed through without any consultation apart from her inner city Greens are destroying arable grazing land, they closed the Agricultural Colleges in Emerald and Longreach with some pretentious b/s lies, now there is very little opportunity for younger generations to gain knowledge of farm work, Labor would not allow drought stricken graziers to feed regrowth mulga to the last of their livestock which were more often than not their breeding stock, so I highly doubt Labor have done anything beneficial for our agriculture sector :thumbsdown:

At election time I'll be remembering the 3 state labour governments actions against the gun industry under the excuse of Covid19 public safety. They and those they've got preferential deals with will be going last on my ballot paper.
I'm going to be a single issue voter this year & hopefully be one of many LAFOs who teach them a valuable lesson.

So many labor held seats in Nth Queensland, can’t believe anyone north of the sunny coast votes for them.

Lol that's pretty bad.

But like all politicians... its to a formula.

Find an enemy, any cause will do
Create hysteria around the enemy.
Use false statements, as the scared do not fact check.
Promise to destroy the enemy and save the population.

Be the savior, ofcourse ask ppl to vote for the savior.

she did it, animal lib ppl do it for the poor animals, greens do it for the environment. Heck even Trump does it.... why don't i do it

Good question, TT
I have one too and meaning no disrespect:-
"Is there a political party that represents shooters?"
That is; one with clout. If only there was. I do know there is the SFF and one I can't think of. There isn't much in Qld anyway :(

It’s a good question WM - imagine if the membership at enough gun could be organised as to allow a spokesperson to write to all political parties, to get their policies re our hobby / sport ? 3000 voters just in this forum ? Numbers speak to these clowns..
