Well i have only been here less than a month and my point was proved.

These threads... not just here... dont go anywhere.

You have one guy saying cronavirus is fake news, then another so called expert working for the lab making the vaccine. A third one tells us how its actually the 5g towers.

In the other thread that i know got canned last week, we had a guy being totally frank and saying its ok if older Australians die, just as long as he is allowed to live his life in full.

In other forums then this conversation degenerates to political ideology, and that is never a good conversation in any shape.

Have i missed something?

I am in no way an expert on anything, but I would have thought that if anyone on this forum was actually working for a lab making a vaccine, and I haven't yet seen anyone claiming to be, then I would consider their opinion as an " expert opinion ". A "so called expert" could be anyone expressing an opinion of a fear mongering nature to gain profit from.
As for the "guy being totally frank and saying its ok if older Australians die, just as long as he is allowed to live his life in full ", well let's be blunt here, whether we as humans like it or not, this is nature's way, this is natural herd immunity, protecting the gene pool by sacrificing the old, the frail, the infirm and sick to the predators.

The term Herd immunity keeps getting bandied around quite a bit. Its something that I think is a bit out there in reality. It is not even known if a person has any immunity and if so for how long after contacting the virus. To obtain this immunity you have to become infected with the virus. Thats something I would rather not have occur thank you very much.
The other take on the Herd immunity is that so many people become infected and therefore immune that the virus runs out of new hosts readily available to infect and therefore declines as it cannot continue to breed. Given it is so highly contagious will that ever be achieved. I think only time would ever tell with regards to that. Other viruses that have been so called extinct for decades due to Vaccines being developed somehow seem to find some hole in the wall to survive until some unsuspecting punter comes by one day.

Yeah mate, one of the very, very few I listen and learn from. One is our family GP who has been tending the medical needs of our family for 5 generations now, my brother, one of Aust top pathologists, and Dr John. All answer/explain things in easy to understand plain English. In fact, I've just in the last hour got back from the family doc after spending half hour while he excised a growth from my forearm along with 100mm x 20mm tissue sample, the whole while talking about shooting under covid.

I sent a express letter to every cross bencher in the Legislative Council who is sitting on the fence thinking about voting to change the state of emergency for another 12 months to let them know I don't support it and why. And that I"ll be watching and adjusting my preferences at the next election. Cost $72 but snail mail carries more weight than complaining on faceache.

Not happy with the lockdown after 6 months? Are you letting the MPs know that?

Sorrry mate, done a Bunnings run for reno suplies before the local wore off. At worst a skin cancer, NOT a sun/melanoma cancer, at best a SEBK wart, path will be couple of days. Mind, at one stage it did looked a bit dodgy, he was about half way through stiching me up when we started talking about the NZ shooter and he forget what he was doing for a minute or three until he slipped in the growing puddle of blood that was trickling down my arm and on to the floor. Might have got a bit tricky if he broke a hip or something. All good though, but the pain just started up ATM.

The best success I have had to move the ball on anything is to make contact with our representatives and let them know what I think. It's good to swap ideas with people and all that but when it comes to the government decisions, it's our reps that vote on those legislative bills and you have to let them know what you think.

One of the things that has been great with Covid 1984 is it's woken up a lot of people that you have to pay attention to who you vote for locally and at the state level because those people can screw you over as much as politicians at the federal level.

Govt can & will do what they like if it suits both parties.
It may be done in small steps & manipulate you into a way of thinking its necessary, but ok. But in the long run, they will do it if they like.
Just looking at what the Labor Govt did here to cover their own costs from buggary in the 15 yrs they had constant power--christ all mighty .
They ripped up our parklands that can allegedly never be developed-as wanted by our first city designer Light- & created all havoc with traffic on the already congested East side of cbd, just to save a few people 3 minutes on a bloody bus.
Not to mention effectively breaking constitution with rates charges increases that were/are beyond any rationale, just to mention a couple of blinding obvious ones.
Dont be so foolish to think they cant just "make" stuff happen.

Never forget, as a citizen, you are their biggest asset, but you are also the Govts biggest liability--just like staff of any given business.
And the asset/liability scale is directly linked to the agenda rope, believe me!
