NSC helps "R" get his licence and guns back.

Post by NSC » 17 Sep 2020, 10:12 am

Urgent news update-

Our young tradie shooter "R" who had his licence suspended and guns seized due to receiving a Covid 19 fine and who the NSC were fighting for and who we launched legal action to support( which SSAA Victoria refused to work with us on) and who we told you about publicly, has had his firearms licence returned by the Licensing and Regulation Division.

This is why being an NSC member is critical. More to come....

 Top work guys, finally someone with enough guts to stand up and take action. Just proves with a little effort results are achievable. I for one will continue supporting and I hope everyone else on this forum can share the love too.

Excellent result stemming from a situation, IMO, that should never had occurred.

Fantastic stuff. Thanks! So glad I'm signed up with NSC - will be throwing my subs that way instead of SSAA from now on!

While this is good news - did VicPol just quickly roll over to protect themselves and hope this all goes quiet again (like they attempted to do with the gun shops) - or is this going to help make a real difference to everyone and not just 'R'?

(Either way - I'd still support NSC, but I'm just hoping that VicPol don't get away with the heavy handed approach and get their way with things going quiet on the matter).

I hope it made it to trial.

Often deals are done and cases are finalized during pre trial conferences and precedents aren't set.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about it.

Great work NSC :drinks:

Well done NSC, exposure of situations such as this is one way of preventing it occurring in future.

Firstly, well done the the NSC. You deserve to have more members.

It looks like for now, VicPol took the path of least resistance. This hasn't changed the countless others still waiting to be processed. The system is still doing what it has already done.

It would be great if the NSC took on another case and not let VicPol of the hook until this Policy of Suspending and confiscation is reversed and until we get decent regulatory enforcement rather than in-discriminant and heavy handed firearms enforcement.

Apparently they have a few similar cases they are working on.

I don’t understand that lack of accountability in our police / govt...if ppl were held to account then crap like this would happen less.

How do you mean? The police need to be stricter with firearms?

No - someone in vicpol made the decision to implement this action, Knowing it wouldn’t stand up in court - whom ever this person was, ultimately - should be held to account for wasting tax payers money and wasting public resources.

I agree but since when have politicians and cops been held to account in this country?

We don't, but this is slightly different because the actual decision maker can be easily found...
