I don't know what the other states are like (they "seem" to have more freedom, except WA, I know WA is strict), but I'm awakened to how authoritarian our society here in Victoria has become. Seeing protesters being arrested and police telling home owners in their own neighbourhoods to move on or arrested for obstruction, just feels really disappointing. I use to hear protesters being let off or left alone for exercising their rights, but now I see them being sentenced to many months in jail. I've read about pensioners being assaulted by police. How did we get here? Enforcement has gotten really strict and harsh.
Grandadbushy, are you lawyering up to get your wife's license back? Sometimes a gentle reminder by a known firearms lawyer to Licencing Division helps alot.
EddieVic, don't assume your doctor will do right by you. Perhaps they think doing right by you means dobbing you in. If they are aware, they may have to think about their careers in case one of their many patients with firearms leave the reservation. You're gonna get some docs who just hate guns and hunters.
Larry, I've always opted out of govt databases. Soon, the data they have can be used for cross matching. The ATO already do this extensively. It only takes a small deal with the insurance industry to allow them access to your data.
